This role will act as point of contact for patients and visitors, this will entail being calm, professional and empathetic whilst dealing with potentially sensitive and stressfully situations
Ensure that the electronic bed state is kept up to date on Systm1.
Ensure that all patient records are complete and in order.
Be responsible for dealing with all telephone queries, referring to the relevant departments as necessary.
Be responsible for monitoring and opening incoming electronic mail for the ward.
Provide administrative and word processing support to both the medical and nursing teams, dealing with queries and requests from doctors and nurses as required.
Responsible for the production and distribution of welcome packs for new admissions.
Organise the patients' discharge as directed, organising transportation to their destination.
Maintain and monitor ward stationery supplies recording stock when necessary. To undertake photocopying requests as directed by the nursing staff.
Ensure that ward office equipment is maintained in good order and to liaise with Facilities and IT regarding equipment maintenance.
Make appointments for patients, arrange transport to other hospitals when needed.
Collect and file patient notes and x-rays and to track patient notes in and out of the ward.
