I am a young man with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder who is looking for a support worker who can support me to live in my own home and learn the skills that I need to become independent.

I need you to be enthusiastic with a positive outlook andeffectively use proactive strategies to help me stay safe.

I require a skilled communicator who can interpret my non-verbal communication. I need my team to be understanding and non-judgemental so I can be supported to manage my needs, develop good routines and build positive trusting relationships


I enjoy being outdoors, whatever the weather, therefore need support workers who are willing to engage in this with me.

When indoors I like listening to music and watching TV.

It would be exciting to learn about new opportunities that are available for me,I need people that can guide and explore these with me.


Job Introduction

Gray Healthcare are looking for support workers to support a young man with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder in his own home and work towards the next chapter of his life.


The person supported enjoys being outdoors for walks and spending time with his family who he is very close to.


This is for 36 hours per week - 3 x 12-hour shifts 8am - 8pm plus flexibility for back-up rota.

Every Support Worker will receive a competitive salary.

You will have an interest, motivation, and enthusiasm to develop experience and skills to work with people with complex needs.

Ideally you will have at least Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards the qualification within GrayHealthcare.

You will need to be willing to participate in the back-up rota, more information provided at interview.
