Do you want to work for the UK's market leading structural steel company?

We're looking for a Creative Communications Executive to join our busy in-house Marketing and Communications team.

Severfield is the market leader in structural steel, recognised for its iconic structures and engineering excellence.

Involved in the UK's highest profile building projects, we have the design and engineering capabilities to deliver the UK's largest, most complex projects from premier league football stadiums through to commercial skyscrapers.


The successful applicant will be working within our talented in-house team learning and using graphic design fundamentals to create marketing and communication materials.

These will be used internally within Severfield with our colleagues, as well as externally to promote Severfield's business activities ranging from copy writing and content planning, to creating flyers, posters, adverts, banners and online digital content.


You will also support the team in on-going projects as well as in other areas such general administration, analytics and reporting, and supporting with events both internally and externally.


You will need to have a full driving licence as there will be an occasional requirement to attend off-site meetings.

The role will be based in York from February 2023 following our office relocation, however until then there would be a requirement to travel to Thirsk two to three days a week until the relocation is complete.


This is an entry level role with a salary of £22,000 - £25,000 depending on experience, and we are looking for someone who has a creative flare and passion for communications, and in return we will offer a competitive rate of pay and benefits package, on-the-job training, as well as supporting professional development opportunities where possible.


  • Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Familiarity of Canva
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Good understanding of social media channels, including LinkedIn
  • Intune with current design trends
  • Good IT Skills
  • A creative mindset
  • Strong time management
  • Highly organised
  • Strong written skills/strong English
  • Collaborative worker

Experience/Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year's experience in a similar role
  • And/or a relevant qualification in a design/creative discipline
  • GCSE English
Full driving licence
