I am currently recruiting for a Senior Housing Solutions Officer for a leading public sector organisation based in Sheffield (S1).

You will be providing a high standard Housing Solutions service. You will be in the Temporary Accommodation team
- this service helps to prevent homelessness, hospital admissions and delayed discharges from a range of supported and institutional accommodationand care.


As a Senior Housing Solutions Officer, your duties will include:

  • Running reports on people who are in temporary placements
  • Assist clients to access specialist support services as required (for example, advocacy services, tenancy support, equipment and adaptations, city wide alarms)
  • Liaise with other statutory and voluntary sector organisations
  • Arrange supported and interim accommodation with the Supported and Temporary Accommodation Team where required
  • Produce and present reports including making recommendations on any aspect of the Housing Solutions Service
  • Carry out mentoring of staff where required

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have great IT skills, be confident updating spreadsheets
  • Be assertive
  • Be able to handle difficult conversations and situations
  • Ability to work with customers in a sensitive and appropriate manner
  • Ability to work in partnership with both voluntary and statutory organisations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to problem solve and think on your feet


This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and busy team, helping to place and manage homeless temporary accommodation placements.


You do not need previous housing experience as full training will be given.
**This is a full time role, Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week, with a pay rate of £14.29 per hour.
