Summary:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with a team of experienced educators and support staff to provide individualised assistance to students with special educational needs.
Your role will involve fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping students overcome challenges, and promoting their overall development.
Responsibilities:

Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one assistance to students with diverse needs, adapting teaching methods to accommodate their unique learning styles.

Inclusive Learning Environment: Contribute to the creation of a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student.

Behavioural Support: Implement strategies to manage and positively influence the behaviour of students, working closely with the SEN team and other professionals.

Collaborative Planning: Work alongside teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring that goals are tailored to their specific needs.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback to teachers, contributing to the overall evaluation of educational strategies and interventions.

Communication with Parents and Guardians: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress, achievements, and any concerns.

Assistive Technology: Utilise and support students in the use of assistive technology to enhance their learning experience and independence.

Personal Care: Provide personal care assistance as needed, ensuring the well-being and dignity of students with physical disabilities or medical needs.

Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay informed about the latest best practices and educational strategies for supporting students with special needs.

A new enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
- PECS and Makaton training/experience
- SLD, MLD, ASD and Complex needs experience
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school based references
- Valid Photo ID
- Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS on the update service
