Position:
£11.50 per hour
Part time, permanent
Flexibility in hours, although ideally 15 hours across Monday - Wednesday is preferred.

Leylands Estate, Derby
We are looking for a motivated individual to join as a catering assistant based at Eborn House, a grade 2 listed mansion house on the Leylands Estate in Derby.
You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a catering service to meet residents needs, and that residents are served with healthy and nutritious balanced meals.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that all health and safety requirements are adhered to and appropriate records are maintained.
You will ensure the cleaning of crockery, cutlery and equipment as specified in the daily cleaning tasks and ensure that the kitchen area is cleaned and maintained at all times in accordance with Health and Safety standards.
You will place food orders, verify goods received and ensure that foods are stored in line with food storage requirements.
Core responsibilities include:
- Implement and manage stock control and food orders
- Verify goods received to orders placed
- Ensure food deliveries are received in accordance with temperature guidelines
- Ensure food deliveries are stored in accordance with the daily storage system
- Daily food to be picked in accordance with residents orders and dietary requirements
- Basic preparations of foods and preparation of occasional home baking (cakes and sandwiches etc)
- Prepare basic condiments and sauces
- Complete all necessary legal paperwork as required i.e. cleaning schedules, temperatures and health and safety reports
- Ensure all cooking utensils, crockery, pots and pans are cleaned using machinery and detergents or washed by hand where necessary
- Report any mechanical or safety defects to the Estate Manager
- Set up, clear and clean dining room service area.
Requirements:
You will have passion for food and catering service, with the ability to work independently. Importantly you will have the ability to approach our residents with empathy, in a calm and controlled manner.
Other requirements include:
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Catering experience
- Knowledge of HACCP requirements
- Satisfactory DBS and references
- Ability to follow instruction
- Ability to be organised and methodical in a catering kitchen
- Good communication skills.
