Job description
You will be tutoring Oxford school students to improve their confidence and academic performance in Spanish. Tutoring is one to one and takes place in the student's home. You will also act as a mentor by encouraging your students to stretch themselves and reach their potential.
Tutoring work is personally rewarding and full of variety, you will be responsible for creating your own approach matched to the student's learning and educational needs.
By getting to know the students and their families, you will build a plan and deliver effective tutoring sessions for between one and two hours a week for each student.
Tutor Doctor tutoring sessions will involve:
- Teaching Spanish to non-Spanish speakers
- Catchingup on progress, reviewing any homework you have set
- Practising priority topics
- Creating and adapting the action plan to meet learning goals
- Planning revision
About You:
- You may be a Spanish teacher with School experience who would like to be able to give students the onetoone attention they deserve
- Or a University student with fluent Spanish who would like to build on your practical teaching skills to improve your employment prospects
- Or an experienced Spanish tutor looking for more local work
Location:
Tutoring will take place in the student's home in central Oxford. All tutoring is in-person.
Qualifications and/or Experience:
- Fluent Spanish (spoken & written)
- Experienced in teaching/tutoring Spanish (12months+)
- References from students/families
- Recent DBS (within last 12months)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver bespoke Spanish tutoring on a onetoone basis to students in the convenience of their own home
- Liaise with the Tutor Doctor local management team to understand the students' needs
- Plan sessions accordingly and prepare material for session work and homework
- Complete timely session reports (within 48hours) using Tutor Doctor's online system
- Ensure you are accessible and reliable, maintaining clear communication with clients and the Tutor Doctor local management team
Job Types:
Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 1-2 per week
Salary:
£20.00-£25.00 per hour

Education:
- Bachelor's (preferred)
Experience:
- teaching/tutoring: 1 year (required)
