SALARY:
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Overtime


LOCATION:
Chinley, High Peak, Derbyshire


JOB TYPE:
Full-Time, Permanent


SHIFT PATTERN: 05:4- 14:15 Sunday to Friday and 13:4- 22:15 Monday to Thursday


JOB OVERVIEW


We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an apprentice trained or time-served Mechanical Engineer who has a natural flair for engineering with welding and fabrication abilities who is a team player with a can-do attitude.


Working as the Mechanical Engineer you will assist in completing jobs of scheduled mechanical duties, welding and fabrication tasks, as well as reported maintenance issues on machinery.

The role of Mechanical Engineer is in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment with finished products supplied to well-known users. As such the Engineering Team is central to the success of the business, ensuring the uptime of the equipment. New ideasand ways of working are embraced to help further assist the department and company.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Mechanical Engineer include:

  • Completion of Mechanical breakdown repairs across the site
  • Scheduled Planned Maintenance (PPM) tasks of plant and equipment
  • Fault diagnoses and repair
  • Vacuum systems, gearboxes, pumps, motors, general overhaul, belts, bearings
  • Line preparation (Strip and assembly)
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic repairs and install
  • Safe isolation and safe working
  • Welding and Fabrication
  • Mechanical installation

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Fully Apprentice trained or timed served Engineer (Mechanical)
  • Autonomous and team working with a cando attitude
  • Understanding and able to read technical engineering drawings
  • Able to weld to a good standard (Essential)
  • Able to fabricate (Essential)
  • Basic knowledge of PUWER
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT Literate
  • Experience in a factory / manufacturing environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities / workload
  • Multi-Skilled Engineers welcome to apply, but will be mechanically focused
