With the opening of our Border Control Post (BCP) facility at our Killingholme Port, where trailers and containers carrying mainly food and plant products will be inspected, we require 2 additional Team Leaders to assist with the continued set-up and running of this new operation.


Your role
As a working Team Leader, working variable shifts including weekends, you will assist the BCP Manager and Supervisor in the day to day effective management of resources within the operation as well as carrying out their normal operational duties including but not limited to:

  • Operating within the warehouse and yard areas of the BCP and compounds within the Port.
  • Moving units from compounds on the port and on and off the loading bays as required.
  • Unloading and reloading of vehicles using FLT and PPT where required.
  • Handling cargo in a safe manner, working specifically to safe systems of work (SSOW).
  • Recognising the importance of food Safety and cold chain management and implement accordingly.
  • Adhere to all Bio Secure and security protocols that are specific to the area being worked in.
  • Recording /collating data based on units inspected.
  • Ensuring full clean down and waste protocols are carried out and relevant documentation completed.
  • Demonstrate and work to all H&S protocols in place.
  • Ensure all in house machinery is managed correctly.

Your profile

  • You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to liaise with external customers and relevant authorities.
  • You must have previous experience as a working Team Leader.
  • Having a tug and forklift license would be desirable.
  • You must have a good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
  • You must be able to undertake audits and sampling.
  • You must have good IT and administration skills as record keeping and logging movements are vital to the operation.
  • It is important that you have a good work ethic and good organisational skills.
  • You must be a selfmotivated individual, with a flexible approach to work.
  • You must be able to work within a team.
  • Good timekeeping is essential.
  • Must be willing to undertake any duties that may arise to contribute to the daytoday running of the department.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.
