The Role


The International Payroll Administrator is responsible for the full cycle management of the in-house UK payroll process and the co-ordination of the external payroll provision for business units in Europe (Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Portugal and Ireland, currently) liaising with the external payroll providers and acting as the internal ECI payroll expert for employees in these countries.

Responsible for ensuring employees and contractors are paid accurately and on time, the International Payroll Administrator will report to the Global Payroll Manager, based in the United States, and will work closely with colleagues in Finance and Human Resources to complete all payroll related tasks effectively and in a timely manner.


Responsibilities:

UK Payroll

  • Accurately prepare, document and post payroll through Ceridian Dayforce on a monthly basis
  • Complete all payroll onboarding and offboarding processes for UK starters and leavers
  • Review the calculation of pay and ensure the company payroll policies are in accordance with the relevant UK pay and tax regulations
  • Calculate all employer and employee tax, national insurance and pension payments and be responsible for filing the appropriate returns with HMRC and pension providers
  • Respond to and resolve any employee enquiries regarding pay including providing employers earnings statements
  • Responsible for the collation and provision of all payroll reports and survey responses and providing support for financial and payroll audits
  • Effectively complete all UK year end payroll processes (P60, P11D) distributing relevant documents to employees and filing with HMRC
  • Act as a system administrator for Ceridian Dayforce Payroll module ensuring the module remains fit for purpose and compliant with UK tax and payroll legislation and any system issues are escalated to Dayforce for timely resolution
European Payrolls

  • Collate all starters, leavers, and mutations for employees on a monthly basis and provide to the external payroll provider of the relevant country
  • Liaise with the external payroll provider to complete the monthly payroll processes
  • Respond to and resolve any employee payroll queries by working with the payroll provider as necessary
  • Liaise with the external payroll provider to obtain all required payroll reports and survey responses and support for financial and payroll audits
  • Liaise with the payroll provider to ensure the year end processes are completed for all European payrolls observing any tax regulations in each country
  • Ensure that all employer and employee pension obligations are fulfilled in each country
  • Work with the payroll providers to ensure that employees benefit from all available allowances
  • Maintain and update employee and company information in relation to tax, pension and government allowances
Other

  • As time allows, the International Payroll Administrator will support the Payroll team based in the United States on payrolls in the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico and Australia (currently).
  • Support systems and process optimization projects and other ad hoc assignments as needed
Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience of administering the fullcycle UK payroll process
  • Indepth knowledge of UK payroll legislation including tax, national insurance and pension schemes to be able to act as company expert in this area
  • Professional payroll qualification desirable (CIPP or similar)
  • Knowledge and experience of administering other European payrolls is desirable
  • Proficient user of MS Word and Excel and able to use MS Office tools for daytoday bus
