What you will be doing

  • Assisting in the leading of the Derby Team Ecology department.
  • Line management of graduate and or Assistant Ecologists.
  • Leading on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.
  • Collaborating with our multidisciplinary teams and undertaking stakeholder engagement.
  • Planning and coordinating field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results using approaches such as biodiversity net gain or natural capital.
  • Designing and coordinating ecological mitigation.
  • Managing work enquiries, preparing bids and building client relationships.

About you

  • Ideally, you would have the following qualities/ qualifications / memberships.
  • The desire to progress in people and business management to include assisting in leading a team, and line management responsibilities.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), chartership, or being on the route to chartership would be advantageous (Atkins to cover membership costs).
  • A degree in ecology or closely related field.
  • Demonstrable specialist ecological knowledge.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
