To ensure that the patient receives the highest standard of care at all times whilst assisting the radiographersand radiologists in the performance of their duties to include.

Overseeing the wellbeing of patients (inpatients and outpatients) in all waiting areas both prior and following their imaging procedure and immediately escalating any changes to a patients conditionto a radiographer.

When required, competently undertake patient observations, including 3 lead ECG where relevant, correctly documenting results and escalating any concerns immediately to a radiographer.


Providing assistance in maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients (both inpatients and outpatients) during their time in the department.

Checking and verifying patient identification prior to imaging procedures.
Acting as patient chaperone as and when required. Reassuring patients, relatives and carers, giving information regarding the procedure and how to obtain the result of the procedure.

Escorting patients, assisting them to undress/dress where necessary and with personal care, maintaining their privacy and dignity at all times.

Liaising with other health care workers to arrange appointments for procedures.
