We are actively looking for a Fabrication Technical Lead to support our Fabrication team at Kane.


Responsibilities

  • Raising purchase orders with suppliers and tracking deliveries through to their destination.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft excel with the ability to collate data on spreadsheets for cost analysis
  • Support the fabrication workshop manager and team with technical advice and guidance on current weld/fabrication processes & procedures.
  • Support the wider prefabrication team with technical advice for the development of current processes and the implementation of new processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Must possess a knowledge of haulage and logistics in order to develop load plans and liaise with site teams to ensure plans are understood and carried through to successful offload.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of health and safety requirements for the development and implementation of lifting plans.
  • Liaise & negotiate with various suppliers in order to source the best possible quotations in line with project budgets whilst meeting the performance specification required.
  • Read technical literature in conjunction with the relevant schematics and design drawings to ensure compatibility and buildability with the project specification.
  • Navigate & interpret 3D models & fabrication drawings in order to compile material lists.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 GCSE's (Grades A-C) Including Math and English
  • Leven 3 City & Guilds Plumbing

Desirable

  • Diploma or higher in mechanical engineering.

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Plumbing/pipefitting time served 5+ years.
  • Microsoft office proficiency with the ability to collate data on spreadsheets for cost analysis and tracking
  • Will possess an understanding of market rates for labour & installation, as well as various products and methods of installation in order to collate and compare cost effective prefabricated solutions

Desirable

  • Project/Contract management 5+ years.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Will have a background in the installation of mechanical plantrooms and pipefitting experience
  • Have supervised or managed similar projects, with an understanding of prefabricated products and solutions
  • Will possess sound technical knowledge of industry standard welding codes & standards

  • Capacity to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic towards a career within a fast paced department.

  • To be highly organised with good planning and timemanagement skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal with good presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
  • Must be very 'hands on' with Can do attitude
