The primary purpose of the Senior Bids & Proposals Officer is to manage and coordinate the timely submission of successful bids and proposals in order to maximise order intake for Leonardo Helicopters.

In support of the Campaign Manager and Bid Manager, working to deliver submissions that are customer focused and solution driven in order to be business winning and competitive.


The Senior Bids & Proposals Officer will be adept at digesting customer requirements, working with the Campaign Manager and Integrated Campaign Team to translate these into clearly defined, technically and price compliant solutions.

Responsible for providing specialised skills and knowledge of bid and proposal development and delivery.

Working with the Bid Manager, you will agree a Bid Strategy that ensures the company's readiness for customer requests and make sure that customer requirements are disseminated and understood by cross-functional, and where required, cross-geographical based Integrated Campaign Teams.

Working with the Campaign Manager, you will develop Win Themes and a Pricing Strategy that can be woven into our bid submissions.


Preferably accredited with the APMP, the Senior Bid & Proposals Officer will have demonstrable experience of managing Cross-functional teams and experience of working internationally, cognisant of the importance of using International English.


Leonardo's industry leading Custom Working policy is enabling those within the International Campaigns Department to work in a hybrid manner, with a mixture of working on site in Yeovil or at home.

  • Establishing, managing and leading Bid teams for modification bid activities or those utilising standardised pricing models.
  • Working in support of the Senior Bids & Proposals Manager for complex and strategic bid activity.
  • Assume delegated authority to deputise for the Senior Bids & Proposals Manager as required.
  • Regular interface with the Customer to define and agree bid/proposal requirements and ensure development of the Bid/Proposal meets the Customer's expectation.
  • For modification bid activity or bids utilising standard pricing model, accept and manage proposals tasks from commencement of bid through proposal and negotiation to contract award. Responsible for acting as the guardian of our Bid Management Processes, to ensure that bid submissions are commercially viable and limit the company's risk exposure.
