This is an exciting time to join the MI & Data Analytics team here at DE&S (Defence Equipment & Support), as we grow the community with the hire of a number of Data Analysts who will support our continued journey to transform the usage and quality of data acrossthe organisation.

The work of a DE&S Data Analyst is front & centre of the DE&S 2025 strategy. In joining our team, you will be able to bring your entire skillset to the role.

We have multiple roles available; some are delivering analytical solutions for business needs, tackling data manipulation, ETL, and reporting.

We also have roles supporting the Data Quality Boards which involves liaising with stakeholders, communicationsplanning and further analysis of data maturity.


You'll work with the industry standard MS BI stack and will have the opportunity to explore an increasing amount of complex datasets, solve interesting problems, form new questions, challenge the established narrative, and inform stakeholders in key functionsacross the organisation with compelling visualisations.

About the role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Gather, analyse, explore and visualise the data to present the 'story' of the data in a meaningful way.
  • Build credible models from the data and use best coding practices to generate reproducible work.
  • Identify complex business problems whilst leveraging data value, use an evolving range of data analysis tools
  • Validate, store, process and protect data in order to make it reliable, highlighting any discrepancies and ensuring it is accessible to users in a secure authorised way.

  • Experience of running a data analysis project within an organisation, from raw data to the production of management information
