We have an opportunity for a Associate Medical Director to join our team.

This is a Full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. Normal business hours.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Medical Practitioner with the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Evidence of experience of working in a CCIO role or similar.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation and management of an electronic healthcare record (EHR). Experience of the independent sector.
  • Experience of development of clinical pathways and pathway redesign.
  • Proven track record of using professional knowledge to initiate and instigate change related to the planning and delivery of clinical services and changing clinical working practice.
  • Experience of working across professional boundaries, able to enthuse and inspire others.
  • Experience of working in clinical informatics.
  • Experience of leading technologybased clinical projects in a complex environment.

Duties of this role include:


  • You will provide medical leadership to drive medical engagement which is key to successful delivery of the IT project.
  • You will provide expert medical and clinical advice and direction to the design, evaluation and development of digital transformation and change programmes to ensure that they deliver safe, effective and evidencedbased services to meet the needs of both patients and clinicians.
  • You will enable, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to support and improve health and health care delivery.
  • You will drive continuous clinical improvement strategies based on patient outcomes and efficiency.
  • You will act as a champion for health informatics as an enabler for safe patient care.
  • You will be pivotal in ensuring clinical engagement with the project at all times.
  • You will promote innovation and champion the development of an information culture that drives a culture of benefit for both patient care and business development and growth.
  • You will support the Chief Medical Officer, Group Clinical Director and Group Medical Director with the development of the clinical digital strategy as part of the wider group clinical strategy.
  • You will act as a core member of the Digital Transformation Programme Board.
