1 x 36 hours, 52.14 weeks per year, Fixed term for 3 years from start date.

+ 7.5% Shift Allowance due to evening and weekend cover required.


West Lothian Council Justice Services have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Fixed Term Support Worker to the Youth Justice Team.

This dynamic team is responsible for assessment, planning and intervention for children, families and young people aged years.


Whilst this post is primarily based within the Youth Justice Team, the successful applicant will also have an opportunity to utilize their skills within the wider Justice Services and will also undertake supervision of Structured Deferred Sentences, Diversion from Prosecution and Bail supervision.


  • Significant previous experience of direct service user contact in a Health, Social Care, or Justice setting.
  • Ability to work constructively with difficult and challenging people using authority appropriately.
  • Proven experience of working in partnership with other services.
  • Ability to understand and work within legislative and procedural frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate to a high standard in written and verbal form.
HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Social Care; HNC/SVQ for Health Support Workers or other relevant qualification at a similar or higher level is desirable
