Assistant Trade Supervisor (Gas)
This post will be based at Link's Falkirk office.

Link is looking for an experienced Assistant Trade Supervisor to join C~urb's Trades team. The Assistant Trade Supervisor will assist the Gas Trade Supervisor to deliver Link's Planned Maintenance program.

The postholder will direct and supervise a small group of trade operatives, ensuring that they provide a quality, customer focused service.

Reporting to the Gas Trade Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out surveys for the design and installation of new gas heating installations and ongoing reactive maintenance works.

The successful postholder will liaise with the Supplier's representative and C~urb Project Officers on specification/design and will arrange for works to be issued to Trade Operatives and external contractors.

The Assistant Trade Supervisor will monitor ongoing works to ensure work is satisfactory and undertaken in line with statutory requirements, regulatory and technical standards, customer expectations and organisational procedures.

You will be responsible for supervising work on site to achieve agreed timescales, quality and cost targets and complete in progress and post quality assurance inspections.

As Assistant Trade Supervisor, you will provide the Trade Supervisor with weekly progress reports on the management works programmes.

You will be required to keep up to date with legislative changes and developments within the gas industry as these affect Link, the safety of the workforce and those affected by their activities.

You must ensure you carry out work in a safe manner in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Gas Safety Installation and Use Regulations, Link's Health & Safety Policy/Procedures.


About You

As an experienced Assistant Trade Supervisor, you will have a strong knowledge of the Gas Industry in maintenance and installation including relevant experience in the inspection of domestic gas heating systems and the remedy of maintenance problems.

You will have the ability to prepare and interpret specifications and prepare schedules or work utilising a prepaid schedule of rates.

As Assistant Trade Supervisor, you must be up to date with current legislation and statutory requirements relating to central heating systems and inspection works.

This role requires strong keyboard skills and the ability to use a variety of IT systems to record and process data accurately and efficiently.

The successful postholder will have the ability to contribute to and support the work of other members of the team and will have strong organisation and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines and targets.

This role requires a full driving licence and access to a car for work.
