Location:
The role will be based from Harlech Court, Bute Terrace, Cardiff.

Other sites include Pontypridd Probation office and Merthy Tydfil, Old House, Castle Street.


Background and Service


Kaleidoscope is a pioneering substance misuse treatment provider, offering evidence-based treatment and holistic support to individuals who access its services.

Staff teams work collaboratively with partner agencies including G4S, Local Health Board, South Wales Police, HMPPS (Her Majesties Prison and Probation Service), PHW (Public Health Wales), and other third sector support agencies.


Clinical services include substitute prescribing for opiate dependence, harm reduction initiatives including the provision of take home Naloxone; family planning and sexual health screening; Blood Born Virus testing and referral on to specialist support.


The post holder should enjoy face to face contact with people who have recognised that their use of substances has become problematic.

They will have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, across agencies.

The post holder must be flexible and efficient within small localities team, to ensure services are delivered at the heart of delivery.


The main principle of the job is to provide effective administrative support to the integrated Offender Intervention Service, this role would allow participant to work from allocated base which will be discussed upon successful interview.

The post holder will offer organisational, administrative and clerical services to the team designed to contribute towards its aims and objectives.


You will be required to manage all controlled drug stationery including the prescription production and distribution, in conjunction with prescribing doctor.

Generating of prescriptions will be necessary for the smooth running of the service.

In doing so this will entail ensuring a good stock record of prescriptions entered in the system and accurate paper trail.

You will ensure all information in relation to prescription and database update.

You will be required to work flexible across operational sites and required to work.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • To assist in management of prescriptions production and changes to scripts in line with medical reviews.
  • To maintain and assist with the process of generating prescriptions across in line with doctor's review.
  • To Support Doctor clinic, making relevant changes to prescription needs and ensuring they are safely delivered to allotted pharmacies.
  • Act as first point of contact within the service, for actions and discussions around prescriptions concerns, which will ultimately be discussed with the house Doctor.
  • To collate, monitor and report data/information and statistics as required, ie Buvidal tracker.
  • To assist clinical team in allocating and arranging doctor's clinic, dates/time that is suitable for bases.
  • To ensure that admin, recordkeeping and communication within the service allows for smooth running of the service.
  • To assist clinical team with metasoft needed updates and trouble shooting.
  • To work with team leaders managing booking systems for doctors' appointments and reviews.
