We are currently recruiting for a B5 Recovery Worker (12 month Fixed Term Contract) to work in our Gosport Service working 37.5 hours per week.

There is some weekend and evening working involved, but this is on a rotational basis and you may be required to also work from home.

This job is open to qualified professionals, or members of the public preferably with some understanding of substance misuse.

The job includes caseload management, assessment, care planning and risk assessing of clients, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, offering blood born virus clinics and health clinics.

We deliver a range of both criminal justice and community based drug and alcohol services across the country and IAPT services in the Wirral.

Provision of drug & alcohol treatment to Service Users within the locality.

Holding a caseload of service users and being responsible for offering a range of interventions to those individuals.

Supporting service users through their treatment journey from beginning to end

Embracing the concept of recovery and demonstrating this in your clinical work

Ensuring that your work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.

Keeping up to date and accurate records and documentation.

To accept referrals, assess need and make appropriate recommendations as part as a robust 'duty system'.

Provide harm reduction advice, information and support with an emphasis on safer drug use, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A,B and C and other blood borne infections

Be responsible for maintaining a full case load of complex clients as the key worker.

To make home visits consistent with need.


To carry out comprehensive assessments, construct care packages with multi disciplinary colleagues where required, review care plans in a structured format and manage onward referral.

To assist and support medical and nurse prescribers during harm reduction and prescribing clinics.

To provide a range of structured psycho-social interventions including CBT based brief solution focused therapy and motivational enhancement techniques.

Make domiciliary visits to service users particularly for those with disabilities and to those with family responsibilities.

Retain contact with service users whilst they are accommodated in residential rehabilitation units including visits when required.
