Description

Our client, an independent accountancy and tax services firm are seeking a Personal Tax Senior to join their team in Southampton.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Dealing with ad-hoc tax queries from clients and advisors within the business and produce relevant tax calculations and advice.

Some examples of the types of queries that could arise:

- capital gains tax estimates
- tax code queries
- pension annual allowance calculations

Tax estimates on investment bond withdrawals
Foreign tax queries

- employee share scheme queries and calculating share pools

Trust tax queries

- incorporation advice

It will also include some compliance work, such as:

Assist with the preparation of self-assessment tax returns and partnership tax returns. Trust tax return experience would be welcomed but not essential
Review tax returns prepared by more junior members of the team, provide feedback and assist with any queries they have if possible
Deal directly with clients to discuss their tax needs, ongoing client compliance work and identifying tax planning opportunities
Meet with potential new clients to outline our services and fees

Knowledge & Skills

Personal tax
Partnership tax
Trust tax
Capital gains tax
Sage personal tax desirable but not essential
Tax qualification eg ATT, CTA or by experience

The Person
The Tax and Accountancy team is a small team, so personality as well as experience is key.

The firm are looking for that person who can build relationships quickly with advisers and clients and be a massive support to the team.

Salary:
£34,999.99-£45,000.00 per year
