Would you like to work with students with special needs within a mainstream setting?


About the role
You will be working with primary students (3-11years old) who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

You will be helping students to engage in lessons, carrying out sensory activities with students such as 'bucket time', helping with emotional regulationand behaviour interventions and encouraging social interactions between students.

As part of their sensory and speech and language support assistant team you will be involved with planning and carrying out interventions to improve social communication andspeech and language abilities in students with an EHCP statement of Autism.

This role will be full-time, Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm during term times.

This role would be ideal for individuals with experience working with Autism through a variety of experiencesincluding SEN Teaching Assistants, Support workers or those with personal experience with ASD.

Good behaviour management skills and comfortability with personal care is a must for this role. Experience with PECS and Makaton is desirable in applicant but notessential.
