School Receptionist

Teaching Personnel are looking for a School Receptionist to work at a Special Educational Needs provision, within Exeter.

The school are looking for someone to be the 'face' of the school, being the first point of call for pupils, staff and visitors to theschool.

School experience is desirable but not essential.


Main Duties:

  • To deal effectively with telephone calls, recording and relaying appropriate information.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures, issuing passes and lanyards to visitors, signing in and out and checking DBS information for visitors.
  • Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information between parents and teachers in a timely manner with minimum disruption to lessons.
  • Collate registers and check absences.
  • Maintaining and updating school information, records and databases.
  • Undertake routine administrative procedures.
  • Any other duties as required by the Head teacher or other member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in an office setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work load.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience in school setting.
  • Background with SEN.
The school supports primary and secondary aged children who have Autism and/or Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
