    About the role:
Great Britain's electricity system is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation.

Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come.

Our Market Frameworks Team supports and enables the business to operate within our regulatory licensed activities, providing expert regulatory support to the business in order to maximise benefits for end consumers and Great Britain.

We are recruiting for multiple roles across different teams in Market Frameworks.

Code Change Leads facilitate and drive the change process within our legal and regulatory frameworks. These frameworks underpin the operational and commercial relationships across multiple parties in the UK.

Changes proposed should be easy for all to understand, deliver positive change for end consumers and meet our ambitious net zero targets.

Market Frameworks Change Leads will work within one specific area building up expertise and knowledge to deliver against our strategy.

Some of the roles will also consider and assess more broadly how the industry codes may need to change in future to support the transition we are seeing in our industry.

This role can be based from either Warwick or Wokingham - the roles are predominantly home based with travel to offices or customer sites around twice a week.

We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, customers, stakeholders (including DESNZ and Ofgem) and consumers to ensure that commercial, technical and regulatory arrangements within GB and interconnected markets deliver optimal benefit to consumers and meet net zero targets
  • Negotiating, managing, and influencing key stakeholders who all have competing priorities or end goals

About you:

What we do isn't just important - it's essential. That's why we look to recruit experts in their field.

In this case, we're looking for someone who:

  • Good electricity industry knowledge and some level of understanding of how the energy market operates and the challenges the industry, specifically Markets face, in the path towards Net Zero.
  • Knowledge or experience in change management, particularly developing complex changes that impact multiple stakeholders and taking them through to implementation
  • Stakeholder management both internally and externally is key.
  • Aptitude to take complex topics and present them in a simple way to a range of stakeholders.

What you'll get:

A competitive salary between £48,000 - £57,000 pa - dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.

About us:

The ESO has a key role to play in tackling climate change by transitioning GB's electricity system to net zero.

We already operate the fastest decarbonising electricity system in the world, with an ambition for zero carbon operation by 2025.

And by 2035, we want to run 100% clean, green energy, all the time.

We welcome the recent announcement, by BEIS and Ofgem, to create a Future System Operator that builds on the track record and skills of the ESO with enhanced roles and responsibilities to unlock additional value for consumers and drive towards net zero.

The time to act on climate change is now.

As part of our team, you won't just be touching the lives of almost everyone in Great Britain - you'll be shaping the way we use and consume energy for generations to come.
