In response to our continued growth, LSI is seeking a talented Jr.

Asset Valuer to help us convey our unique value proposition to industry influencers in support of our outreach to executive level decision makers within the Fortune 1000 marketplace.


General Summary:
Jr.

Asset Valuer will be working within the Valuations Department, based in Leeds, providing valuation services to a range of clients including Corporates, for example Mars, P & G, Mondelez.

In addition to Leasing and Finance Companies. The valuations will be used for a range of reasons to include financial planning, restructuring/ closures, and financing.

The Jr. Asset Valuer will be working on valuation instructions covering primarily machinery and equipment, in addition to inventory.

Analysis will include investigation and analysis of new / replacement costs, market data for used equipment prices, maintenance and additional points which may impact the valuation of the asset.

To enable the valuation report to be prepared.


The role will be primarily working from the Leeds office however this will develop to visiting Company locations across UK (and as you grow and develop may include Europe).


Within the initial training period you would be working in conjunction with an experienced valuer in addition to possibly working independently on smaller valuations on a desktop basis with guidance provided.


For Company visits, where we are completing physical inspections, the aim to be able to independently schedule assets within a 12-month period, (which may be part of an overall site team).


Our expectation would be within 12-18 months you would be working independently on projects under the guidance of a Manager who would provide you with ongoing guidance and support.

As you your knowledge and capabilities grow, there are opportunities for promotion.


Responsibilities:

Valuations will cover primarily Machinery and Equipment, however may extend to inventory and accounts receivable.

As the Junior Asset Valuer, you will be initially providing support and assistance to the existing team of valuers supporting with ongoing valuation work which may include industry analysis, machinery investigations to include costings, market, maintenance and additional points which may impact the valuation of the asset.


Valuations are completed on either a desktop basis or require inspection which involves attending the facility which can be within the UK and Europe so some travel will be required.

On-site inspections are typically - 2 days, on occasions may extend to 5 working days.

  • Undertake and assist other valuers in completing machinery and equipment appraisals in a wide range of industry sectors to include:
  • Leasing, Asset Based Lending
  • Corporate Valuations for business planning / disposal
  • Restructuring
  • Valuations are completed on either a desktop basis or require inspection which involves attending the facility, which will allow physical inspection of the asset in addition to data gathering
  • As part of the valuation exercise, you will be expected to gather information required to complete valuation through
- contact with client personnel
- good interpersonal skills and time management is required to ensure you communicate effectively requirements
- work to desired deadline, this may involve additional working hours to meet deadlines on occasions

  • Work file
  • Information gathered will then be documented to include list price, research / sales data etc. to support the valuation
  • Reporting ability to work to deadlines, which is typically 7 working days from inspection to reporting, however there are smaller
