HEAD OF PROCUREMENT

Camberley/Slough/home-based with travel to other sites

£70-75,000 per annum


Reporting to our Finance Director and working alongside our Senior Management Team, we are looking for a proactive and experienced Procurement professional to take responsibility for the ongoing management of purchasing strategy and activity and to ensure optimal supplier performance and pricing is achieved and maintained across the business.


Your new role
In this truly
operational role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the direct and indirect spend cost base, ensuring that best value is being achieved for goods and services procured
    ;:
  • Managing relationships and negotiating with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level and negotiating contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms, with technical and operational input from stakeholders where appropriate;
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining a supplier relationship and evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance;
  • Evaluating the procurement and supplychain challenges faced by the business and taking action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities;
  • Leading, mentoring and managing the Buyers, to deliver the appropriate support to the business to ensure corporate and business development objectives are met.

What do I need to apply?


We are looking for a qualified CIPS professional, who has previous experience of managing a central procurement and supply chain function, within a multi-site environment.

Proven experience of developing sourcing and supply chain strategies, managing a significant value procurement budget and managing and mentoring a small team of buyers are all essential requirements for the role.

In addition, you will need high level IT skills, the ability to influence at all levels and good communications skills.

You will also need to have a full driving licence and access to the use of a car.
