The Role
You will have a passion for making buildings work for the people living in them, enjoy working with a range of disciplines and in return, you will have the chance to work with an environment consultancy that acts as a trusted adviser to the leading playersin the high-end residential sector.
- Lead development of comprehensive and innovative strategies for building performance, including energy, overheating, fabric, whole life cycle carbon, daylight and sunlight and wider sustainability issues.
- Advise clients on compliance with planning policy, building regulations and relevant technical standards (e.g., CIBSE, British Standards and building warranty requirements).
- Manage some of the company's most interesting and challenging projects, coordinating teams of specialist consultants to ensure project targets are met.
- Delivery of business development activities including external presentations, preparing major proposals, and developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients.
- You will be joining a friendly, multidisciplinary team of experts who will support you in delivering solutions on complex projects in line with company values and the needs of clients.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years' experience in specialist consulting in the residential and commercial construction sector.
- Relevant degree and background in architecture, physics or engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Chartered member of a relevant professional body.
- Knowledge of at least one of the following: Dynamic thermal modelling, overheating mitigation, daylight and sunlight assessment, thermal façade analysis and condensation risk assessment.
- Desire to lead service development, learn new technical skills and take on new challenges.
- Proven capability at working on multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Firstrate report writing and numerically literate.
Desirable Software Skills
- Dynamic thermal modelling in Design Builder or IES.
- 2D drafting in AutoCAD.
- 3D modelling in AutoCAD or Rhino.
- Daylight and sunlight analysis using MBS Waldram Tools.
- Thermal façade analysis using steady state heat transfer software such as Trisco or Solido.
- Interstitial condensation analysis using Glaser and WUFI.
- SAP/SBEM Modelling.
