The Role

You will have a passion for making buildings work for the people living in them, enjoy working with a range of disciplines and in return, you will have the chance to work with an environment consultancy that acts as a trusted adviser to the leading playersin the high-end residential sector.


  • Lead development of comprehensive and innovative strategies for building performance, including energy, overheating, fabric, whole life cycle carbon, daylight and sunlight and wider sustainability issues.
  • Advise clients on compliance with planning policy, building regulations and relevant technical standards (e.g., CIBSE, British Standards and building warranty requirements).
  • Manage some of the company's most interesting and challenging projects, coordinating teams of specialist consultants to ensure project targets are met.
  • Delivery of business development activities including external presentations, preparing major proposals, and developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients.
  • You will be joining a friendly, multidisciplinary team of experts who will support you in delivering solutions on complex projects in line with company values and the needs of clients.

Requirements:


  • At least 5 years' experience in specialist consulting in the residential and commercial construction sector.
  • Relevant degree and background in architecture, physics or engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Chartered member of a relevant professional body.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following: Dynamic thermal modelling, overheating mitigation, daylight and sunlight assessment, thermal façade analysis and condensation risk assessment.
  • Desire to lead service development, learn new technical skills and take on new challenges.
  • Proven capability at working on multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Firstrate report writing and numerically literate.

Desirable Software Skills

  • Dynamic thermal modelling in Design Builder or IES.
  • 2D drafting in AutoCAD.
  • 3D modelling in AutoCAD or Rhino.
  • Daylight and sunlight analysis using MBS Waldram Tools.
  • Thermal façade analysis using steady state heat transfer software such as Trisco or Solido.
  • Interstitial condensation analysis using Glaser and WUFI.
  • SAP/SBEM Modelling.
