The Role

You will have a passion for making buildings work for the people living in them, enjoy working with a range of disciplines and in return, you will have the chance to work with an environment consultancy that acts as a trusted adviser to the leading playersin the high-end residential sector.

Lead development of comprehensive and innovative strategies for building performance, including energy, overheating, fabric, whole life cycle carbon, daylight and sunlight and wider sustainability issues.
Advise clients on compliance with planning policy, building regulations and relevant technical standards (e.g., CIBSE, British Standards and building warranty requirements).
Manage some of the company's most interesting and challenging projects, coordinating teams of specialist consultants to ensure project targets are met.
Delivery of business development activities including external presentations, preparing major proposals, and developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients.
You will be joining a friendly, multidisciplinary team of experts who will support you in delivering solutions on complex projects in line with company values and the needs of clients.

Requirements:

At least 5 years' experience in specialist consulting in the residential and commercial construction sector.
Relevant degree and background in architecture, physics or engineering or equivalent work experience.
Chartered member of a relevant professional body.
Knowledge of at least one of the following: Dynamic thermal modelling, overheating mitigation, daylight and sunlight assessment, thermal façade analysis and condensation risk assessment.
Desire to lead service development, learn new technical skills and take on new challenges.
Proven capability at working on multiple projects.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Firstrate report writing and numerically literate.

Desirable Software Skills

Dynamic thermal modelling in Design Builder or IES.
2D drafting in AutoCAD.
3D modelling in AutoCAD or Rhino.
Daylight and sunlight analysis using MBS Waldram Tools.
Thermal façade analysis using steady state heat transfer software such as Trisco or Solido.
Interstitial condensation analysis using Glaser and WUFI.
SAP/SBEM Modelling.
