AJ connect working with a well-established charity based in Glasgow and we are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and present financial reports to management and the board of trustees
  • Manage and maintain financial records and systems
  • Provide support to other departments with financial queries and advice
  • Documenting current financial practises and procedures with the capacity to suggest improvements to make them more effective or strengthen current controls.
  • Rearranging the Sage chart of accounts such that nominal codes and cost centres are used in the general ledger, as well as uploading the revised budget.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Good understanding of general ledger, including journal processing
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Good experience of sage 50 accounting software
  • Experience working with a charity or nonprofit organisation is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of the role of the finance function
