About the role
Vorboss is looking for a driven and proactive individual to take on the position of Nightworks Supervisor. The role is principally working within the Fibre Build team and will report to the Installation Team Manager.

The position will be expected to manage our nightwork teams and subcontractors installing subduct and cables, ensuring compliance with our work packages, specifications, and quality standards.


Nightworks Supervisor Responsibilities
The Nightworks Supervisor's responsibilities will consist of (please note that this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Direct supervision of out of hours cabling teams installing subduct and fibre optic cables in the Vorboss network
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out safely and to Vorboss quality standards
  • Surveying and reviewing works locations and advising on and overseeing safe site setups (including any traffic management requirements)
  • Providing clear and accurate status and progress reports of installed works on a nightly basis
  • Troubleshooting and finding solutions to difficult installations
  • Ensuring all productivity targets are being met and maintained by out of hours teams
  • To identify any improvements on issues which are raised, and subsequently implement these corrective actions as and when required.
  • To be flexible and provide cover for other Supervisors as required

Essential interpersonal skills:

  • Committed to making the Health and Safety of colleagues and the public the highest priority.
  • The ability to read and interpret Vorboss subduct and fibre work packages, with familiarity of Vorboss subduct types, fitting, and installation procedures.
  • Fantastic communicator, with the ability to express complex information concisely across the business.
  • Ability to think methodically and to oversee and coordinate works across multiple sites.
  • A selfstarter, someone who is going to harness their natural curiosity to contribute to the process and grow with the company.
  • Willing to work nights (8pm4:30am) with periodic crossover with standard office hours.
  • Strong timemanagement skills and the ability to organise, coordinate and prioritise competing priorities
  • To consistently work with unparalleled attention to detail

Qualifications and experience:


  • Excellent 'hands on' knowledge of cabling methods including subduct installation, cable pulling, and fibre blowing techniques
  • Experienced in managing and supervising multiple teams on underground fibre build projects
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (you will be required to drive as part of your job role)
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic management requirements and cabling operations within the public highway (working knowledge of Safety at streets works and roadworks codes of practice)
  • NRSWA accreditation
  • Knowledge and experience of confined space works
