Driver - Nights (Whiteley & Winchester) - Partnering Health
Description
PHL are an established and expanding healthcare organisation responsible for providing a variety of urgent and primary health care services across Hampshire.
As part of the Out of Hours GP service we have a fleet of response cars, for providing healthcare in people's homes.
As an integral team member, you will be accountable for the OOHs vehicle during their shift, ensuring clinicians are safely delivered to patients place of residence while effectively meeting KPI's.
Drivers must ensure that the vehicle is fully equipped and stocked at the beginning of each shift, reporting any issues to the Dispatcher/Team Leader immediately.
The Driver will have occasional face to face patient contact, as may be required to act as a chaperone for patients/clinicians, treating every patient with respect and providing confidence in our ability to deliver a great and caring service.
Hours:
Overnights - weekday with the occasional weekend
Drivers Key Responsibilities:
- Use the company sat nav which has a direct link to the company clinical system Adastra.
- Ensure Medical Equipment, Drug boxes and Handheld Equipment are in the car at start of shift & returned to designated storage at end of shift.
- Collect prescription packs from the base ensuring you record the details accurately.
- Ensure that the car computer is set up, fully charged and ready for the clinician to log into when they arrive on shift and the car has stock of all necessary paperwork/ envelopes etc.
- Support the clinician with any tasks as requested. This includes chaperoning the clinician on all patient home visits.
- Ensure that security is at the forefront of each shift. The vehicle and all essential equipment/documentation must remain secure, and it is the Drivers responsibility to ensure this is so. Drivers are also responsible for the safety of the passengers in the vehicle.
- Liaise with the Dispatcher and keep him/her of any issues that may arise
Drivers Skills Required:
- A Full Clean Driving Licence is required.
- Demonstration of good communication skills.
- To be proactive where possible in identifying any potential risks/problems when clinicians are visiting patients' residences, and to report these back to dispatch team.
- To be flexible with shift availability, times, and locations
