The Client:
Our client is an independent creative edit studio, engaging in global collaborations across diverse sectors including fashion, beauty, music videos, commercials, and documentaries.
The Role:
As an
Assistant Editor, you will effectively manage media files, comprehending variances in format and codec.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of edits to ensure the final products are free from errors.
- Create and prepare EDLs, XMLs, AAFs, and OMFs.
- Independently resolve technical issues, overseeing software and hardware challenges.
- Manage the logging of hard drives efficiently.
- Establish projects efficiently to guarantee a seamless workflow during the editing process.
- Make initial selections of shots and sequences to facilitate the editing workflow.
- Streamline the synchronisation and organisation of raw footage for efficient editing.
- Precisely label and log footage, ensuring easy retrieval and reference.
- Develop sound editing skills to enhance project quality.
- Source and manage sound and footage resources effectively.
- Occasionally participate in client meetings to grasp dynamics and provide support to senior staff.
Requirements:
- Previously worked as an Assistant Editor or in a similar role.
- Possess 23 years of industry experience within an established posthouse.
- Understanding of VFX / Colour / Sound / Delivery Pipeline.
- Skilled in Adobe Premiere with a solid understanding of Adobe After Effects.
- Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve knowledge. (Beneficial)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain positive client relationships.
