HRBL Emerging Markets:

The HRBL, Pharma Emerging Markets will be a member of the Emerging Markets Leadership Team and EMHR leadership team. The role will provide strategic HR leadership to the Area VP and the leadership team across the Markets; and lead the design and delivery of HR strategy and processes which support a capable, high performing, engaged and energised employee population


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide strategic leadership, counsel and coaching to the Area VP Emerging Markets and Leadership Team on organisational and people issues.
  • Provide leadership for ongoing organisational development, articulating and gaining buyin to new structures and ways of working throughout the organisation.
  • Talent management, compensation and benefits, performance management, recruitment, organizational effectiveness and compliance with corporate HR policies.
  • Manage higher risk organisations with strong focus on employee engagement, employee relations and union relations through proactive initiatives and risk management
  • Diagnose business needs and develop the workforce strategies required to improve business performance and deliver the business strategy.
  • Provide leadership for culture development across the area in an engaging, inclusive way, reinforced through personal leadership, effective team work and use of the GSK change framework.
  • Succession Planning and

Talent Management:
use business insights to diagnose present and future capability gaps and develop a plan to address these. Understand how to identify, manage and retain talent, including succession planning processes. Develop leaders' ability to manage and develop diverse talent.

  • Initiate and lead major change initiatives and ways of working. Use systemic thinking to diagnose key areas for change, engage key stakeholders around change, and use multiple levers in an integrated manner to progress the change agenda.
  • Ensure delivery of HR operations activity by managing the stakeholders and service providers across the function, including local HR teams reporting in from the markets/clusters and CoEs or service teams.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources
  • Experience of owning and delivering a talent management strategy explicitly linked to business strategy.
  • Experience of working with high levels of ambiguity and with the need to multitask in a fastpaced business environment.
  • Experience operating in higher risk markets with a strong employee relations component
  • Experience leading change across organisations and functions.
  • Experience of using centralised functions to deliver resource solutions and required expertise
  • Experience building organizational capabilities
  • Numerate and able to manage budgets.
  • Experience of working in varied business teams and aligning HR strategies to business needs, including ROI and risk analysis of strategies.
  • Global leadership experience in managing and developing individuals and teams

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Human Resources
  • Current or previous experience in a HR leadership role over multiple countries
  • Ideally some experience coaching leaders
