The Role


As an Inventory Controller you will report directly to the Purchasing Inventory Manager and be a key member within the department.


You will be responsible for maintaining stock levels and product availability and will take ownership for UK and international suppliers.

You will ensure all external purchases are made at the agreed costs and lead times, ensuring product quality is maintained.

You will work alongside your colleagues to resolve any supplier non-conformance of delivery or product, supporting the identification and implementation of supply chain improvements and efficiencies.


Key Duties

  • Manage and maintain PO's with suppliers ensuring dates are correct and updated
  • Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct amount of items are in stock
  • Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies
  • Review and manage demand in conjunction with the Demand Planning team
  • Manage the operational relationship with suppliers and develop incident resolution for all supply chain delivery and product quality issues
  • Manage shortages and stock outs with mínimal affect to supply by expediting
  • Maximise MOQ's, MOV's, EOQ's, lead times and forecasts to maximise effective purchasing from suppliers
  • Review operations schedules for all inbound deliveries to ensure timely stock deliveries and communicate details on a daily basis to the goods inwards team
  • Process and return all defective items/deliveries and inform supplier and buyer
  • Manage the operational relationship with suppliers and develop incident resolution for all supply chain delivery and product quality issues
  • Responsible for ensuring that all inventory and stock management systems are accurately maintained within agreed parameters
  • Inform Line Manager and Buyer of products of any occasions of contract variance in a timely manner (agreed timescales)
  • Identify and notify Line Manager when buying protocols have not been carried out correctly
  • Daily collation and processing of stock information for use in the Inventory Management process
  • Liaise with other key stakeholders within the business to ensure that already approved vendors and products are used before introducing new suppliers
  • Ensure all daily purchase order figures, and goods receipts are correctly recorded
  • Provide recommendations to improve inventory control and stock management to Line Manager and other heads of department
  • Review balance of inventory and request physical stock checks of items when discrepancies are found when required
  • Managing invoice queries with the Finance Team
