At Wates we are looking for a Senior Planner to join our Construction Major Projects team.
Our Senior Planners are a valuable part of our business working inclusively and collaboratively as part of our wider planning team, Senior Planners are integral in the day-to-day work across our construction projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsibilities
- Manage and report on project progress. Understand key performance indicators, project controls, and metrics.
- Ensure full integration of design and procurement elements of programmes with construction.
- Produce integrated tender programmes, logistic plans, method statements and present proposals at settlement meetings.
- Review programme effectiveness of changes and advise of any delay issues.
- Produce schedules and analyse quotes for project equipment and machinery.
- Participate in multiple projects, supporting live and tender projects, manage a successful completion with mínimal supervision,
- Mentor and advise less experienced planners including our trainee planners
- Managing risk
ABOUT YOU
You are.
- Experienced of working on large budget Construction developments.
- A confident communicator, who enjoys liaising with a range of clients, professionals, and employees on site.
- Familiar with commonly used forms of construction contracts, including NEC
- Aware of a variety of performance measurement techniques, such as Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value, Analysis and use of Key Performance Indicators.
- Confident in the use of Microsoft Office and have knowledge of relevant building methods and project management software to manage information and finances during the project.
- A leader with the ability to motivate your team to become high performing.
- Highly organised, with an ability to write and monitor project plans, schedules and utilise time and resources effectively.
- Analytical with a good level of numeracy.
- Calm under pressure with an ability to overcome unexpected challenges during the construction process and effectively problem solve.
- Able to make decisions under pressure, ensuring projects will progress on time to schedule and within budget.
- Commercially aware, with an ability to allocate and manage your budget effectively and understand client concerns.
