An exciting and rare opportunity has come up to join our high performing PE team at Hallsville Primary,

working in an exceptional trust in collaboration with Scott Wilkie Primary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching PE/sport across the school, working closely with the sports lead and the leadership team.
  • Taking responsibility for the smooth running of all before and after school clubs.
  • Taking a lead in managing the provision at playtime ensuring children have plenty of interesting activities, games and challenges and staff are engaged and playing with children.
  • To train up sports leaders and ensure we have adequate peer mediators to resolve conflict at playtimes.
  • Training, selecting and taking children to sporting events.
  • Writing risk assessments to ensure the wellbeing of pupils participating in sporting activities off site.
  • Planning and organising sporting tournaments and events in school.
  • To model and demonstrate excellent practice in teaching and delivering PE and sport to ECTs.
  • To plan and deliver high quality PE and sport for the pupils at Hallsville.
  • To plan for and support SEND pupils so they are included in all PE / sport activities.
  • To support pupils in the morning in their classroom, working with the class teacher.
  • A passion and drive for PE and sport and is either a qualified sports coach or has a degree in sports science.
  • A commitment to supporting pupils in class as a mentor/ role model.
  • Excellent behaviour management of pupils and experience in teaching and running sports clubs and extracurricular activities.
  • The ability to demonstrate outstanding practice.
  • A strong track record of excellent outcomes.
  • Good knowledge of the curriculum and its progression from EYFS to Y6 (preferable).
  • A creative, innovative and reflective approach to teaching.
  • High expectations of children and staff.
  • The capability to inspire, challenge, support and empower others.
  • A proactive outlook to their own professional development and is well read.
