Recruitment Pro are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our well established manufacturing clients supply chain function as a production planner to manage, develop and co-ordinate all available resources of plant and materials in order to ensure effective and efficient outputs that are within the agreed parameters of safety, hygiene, cost quality and quantity whilst always striving for continuous improvement in all areas through cross-functional co-ordination and liaison.


Prime Responsibilities:


Scheduling:

■ All departments to achieve to meet planning requirements at minimum cost in terms of labour and waste with the resources available.

■ Discuss and resolve scheduling issues with the relevant staff

■ Ensure accurate schedule of production is created on a daily basis from works orders information provided by the Customer Service team and Unity data

■ Ensure that maximum throughputs and maximum yield are obtained

■ Ensure that the plant running hours are maximised and downtime is minimised

■ Create and maintain a rework plan that ensures re-work product is reintroduced to the process at the earliest opportunity and floor stock levels are kept to an absolute minimum

■ Maintain and update all information relating to the scheduling process. This includes machine speeds, efficiencies, batch times and allergen segregation

■ Work with production management to identify areas of waste in the process, proposing and implementing improvement measures


Communication:

■ Attend daily/weekly update meetings with production teams and Purchasing Department.

■ Maintain communication with QC acting upon information received

■ Advise production management of priorities and any amendments that occur

■ Advise production management, sales and customer services teams of any issues arising that affect production such as breakdowns and failed product.


Developments:

■ To identify problems and to work with all personnel to deliver progress by taking appropriate action

■ To uphold and implement Good Manufacturing Practices, especially in relation to hygiene standards

■ Liaise with Technical Department with regards to the organisation and scheduling of production trials.

■ To accurately and consistently measure production performance, undertaking the necessary actions to drive through continuous improvement.


Person Specification:


  • Previous experience of working within an FMCG environment is essential, ideally in food, as well as experience of working with multiple SKU's.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP and inventory management principles and a proven track record in data analysis.

£28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
