In the United Kingdom, Austria, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and China, UPI directly markets and distributes movies through its local offices, creating campaigns and release strategies that respond to the culture and market behaviour of those territories.

An exciting opportunity to join the UK Publicity Team within Universal Pictures International.

Based in London, the UK Publicity team is responsible for driving talkability and generating unmissable moments across media the landscape for the films across the slate through innovative activity that achieves true cut through.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Publicity and Publicity Managers across all film releases.
  • Work closely with the Special Projects Manager to support them in delivering allocated elements of Special Project activations, as defined.
  • Liaise with journalists, agencies, suppliers and internal stakeholders, directing requests to relevant title Manager.
  • Manage trailer and asset launches, publishing material via UPI Media.
  • Facilitate all press junket logistics, booking crews, maintain relationships with hotels, makeup artists, hair stylists, cars, security.
  • Create car grids, hotel charts, junket budgets, update information within tour schedules.
  • Coordinate team invoices, raise and approve POs, register new vendors and submit monthly expenses.
  • Manage title budget allocations, closely monitoring for overspend.
  • Organise internal and external press screenings: liaising with screening rooms, working closely with external agencies and internal Technical department, managing RSVP lists, booking security, create invitations, updating FDA calendar.
  • Support the team on required legal documents across titles and projects e.g., NDAs and contracts, securing signatures and archiving.
  • Ensure media database and external release slate is updated regularly.
  • Manage the team diary, schedule meetings, book meeting rooms, prepare agendas and take minutes when required.
  • Organise all travel arrangements, managing company travel booker and car company.
  • Liaise with media monitoring company to ensure all relevant titles are tracked, along with managing assets available to press via Panther.
  • Conduct research, participate and engage in brainstorming sessions with wider team. Review, feed into and support the pitching process for projects and agencies across titles.
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations and reports for publicity campaigns.
  • Attend and work out of office events and screenings where required, including outside of office hours when necessary.
  • Support on completing and delivering special project forms and creative materials to Special Project partners.
  • Work closely with the Publicity intern.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in film marketing/publicity strongly desirable though not essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fastpaced work environment.
  • Strong and clear communicator.
  • Great initiative and proactivity.
  • Confidence to communicate and converse professionally with external partners and senior team members.
  • Familiarity with Sharepoint (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
