We are growing and are currently looking foran enthusiastic Food Technologist.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage projects, ensuring that the appropriate resources (sensory, research, regulatory, commercial, consumer insights, technical services, production, and QC) are allocated and coordinated to ensure that the action standards of the brief are met and completedsuccessfully.
  • Ensure that the seasoning raw material cost is at or below the cost limit specified in the seasoning brief. Monitor project costs to check that they are not exceeding defined guidelines.
  • Be responsible for the seasoning through the whole cycle, development to scale up and commercialisation to the trial in the Customers factory or restaurant, thus ensuring a flawless launch.
  • Play a full and active role during Scale Up, Shelf-Life Studies, Raw Materials and Finished Product quality programmes and play an active part in the transfer of formulation responsibility to Operations.
  • Research current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts
  • Undertake longterm projects with other departments, such as reducing waste by improving efficiency.
  • Use sound commercial and technical awareness of our ingredients, processes, and customer requirements to deliver 'right first time'.
  • Build and develop professional relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Conduct Sensory tasting as required.
  • Contribute to QA, Design and Sensory taste panels to develop a strong awareness of the sensory attributes of seasonings.
  • Manufacture seasonings and sample products to a consistently high quality, as specified by the Lab operating procedures, while maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment according to company standards for good manufacturing practice, hygiene, andhousekeeping.
  • Manage sample requests, action accordingly and provide feedback to customer.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Experience in a relevant food manufacturing and/or seasoning /flavour business.
  • Developing experience on dry seasonings for savoury snacks will be an advantage.
  • A Food technology / science or equivalent degree.
  • Fluent English, second European language desirable.
  • Previous experience in a successful launch of products.
  • A good understanding of raw material functions and product shelf life.
  • Good knowledge of rheology of dry ingredients and functionality of dry seasonings.
  • Excellent sensory abilities.
  • Good communication & presentation skills.
  • Creative, selfstarter with ability to anticipate customer needs and demonstrate exceptional service.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrate project management, good time management, and ability to build relationships within team and externally with customers.
  • Passionate foodie open to taste all food categories: Dairy, Meaty, Spicy ethnic food.
  • Good attention to detail and commercial understanding.
  • Driving licence.
  • Computer literate: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and SAP.
