The role is expected to be a full

Salary
:
c. £45,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support.
The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024.When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environment Site Lead, specialising in Land Quality/ Waste.This will be a key role throughout the construction phase of the project, ensuring compliance with our environmental requirements and commitments.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home.We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
This role will require regular site visits to Sizewell C.The Role
:
You'll function as a Technical Lead for Land Quality and Waste Management activities on site and will have a responsibility for performing on-site surveillance of construction activities undertaken by SZC's contractors.
Supporting the SZC Site Environmental Consents Lead with advice and reviews of construction permits related to Land Quality and Waste where appropriate will be a key part of your role.
Additionally, you'll act as the key interface with the Environment Agency, local authorities, and other external regulators, as well as stakeholders on site and in the local area and will also involve working closely with the Civil Works Alliance and associated project teams to define processes and procedures for the management of compliance as part of site-based activities.
The Skills
:
You'll need to have experience in an environmental
- related role with particular knowledge of land quality/ waste management, with a strong understanding of the requirements and arrangements needed to deliver compliance with site environmental permits, licences and consents.
Knowledge of the construction/ large infrastructure sector would be beneficial.
