About the Role:


This is a key role where you can bring your technical/process knowledge and experience to make a positive difference to both current and future machine performance.

You will have ownership of process related objectives and issues on the Converting lines around efficiency, waste reduction and continuous improvement of the machines.

Working closely with the Operations Leader, technicians and shift-based colleagues, you will generate and deliver the local area strategy aligned to the scorecard and site masterplan - whilst at all times being a role model for safety.

What You Will Do:

As a critical member of the day technical support team in converting you will:

  • Drive change and maximise machine efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives and projects, manage root cause analysis be involved in capex project planning and delivery
  • Lead trials for product and process improvements and changes as part of the Champs process, giving technical steer to colleagues
  • Collate and analyse data to assess the capability of the process to meet product specifications
  • Facilitate Daily Direction Setting (DDS) and gap analysis meetings and effectively challenge the team to ensure machine improvements
  • Provide necessary support to a continuous operation as needed and respond to out of hours calls when required

Who You Are:


Key to being successful in this position is that you have a sound understanding of the converting line process through experience of working in that area and having technical proficiency in engineering.

You will also need to be able to demonstrate the following:


  • Experience of leading others (project leadership and/or line management) developing others by utilising a variety of learning approaches depending on the audience
  • Proven experience of managing stakeholders across teams and the ability to ability to communicate and influence stakeholders effectively
  • Experience of leading in DDS and gap analysis meetings
  • Management of maintenance budgets
  • Solid SAP knowledge including creating notifications, and spares management
  • Able to analyse data effectively
