Temporary Community Centre Caretaker

Place of work:
Grangefarm Community Ctr, Wesley Road, Scunthorpe, DN16 1SA.

Pay:
Dependant on experience.


Work Pattern: 16 to 20 Hours per week, including evenings and weekends.


Main Purpose of the Job:

To work as a proactive member of the Team, under the direction of the centre's Trustee's to provide effective, efficient and safety conscious customer service.

Developing and maintaining high standards of presentation throughout the centre, to ensure continuity of the use of the buildings and grounds for community use.

Duties:

• Cleaning the building or supervising a team of cleaners.
• Gardening and performing basic landscape duties or supervising others in these roles.
• Inspecting the building, including heating, lighting, fire safety and alarm systems to ensure they are in good working order.
• Performing basic repairs and supervising contractors for major repairs.
• Monitor cleaning materials, tools and furniture and report back to trustees.
• Manage bookings for any rooms available for hire.
• Opening and closing the building as required.
• Any other ad hoc duties as requested by the trustee's.

Skills:

• Previous Caretaking experience desirable.
• Handyman skills such as minor plumbing, carpentry and electrics.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A commitment to community run services.
• Able to work flexible hours prioritising the needs of the centre, including the occasional evening, weekend and attending the centre at short notice.

The closing date is Wednesday 14th June 2023.

Salary:
£10.42-£13.50 per hour
