School Business Manager
Key Responsibilities:
To play a key role in development and finance administration, as well as contributing to general office support.
This will include responsibility for the database used for administering the Parental Support Scheme and the HBS Association for former students.
Description of Role:
The following gives an overview of the responsibilities of the role. The list is not exhaustive and will adapt in consultation with the post-holder as needs change.
Responsible for:
Ø To operate the purchase ordering and purchase ledger function ensuring the school authorisation procedures and financial controls are followed
Ø To generate and process supplier payment runs. To process other school payments as required
Ø Administration of the Friends of HBS Parental Support Scheme and other fund-raising, including Gift Aid
Ø Administration of the HBSA, former students association, the Parents' Association and fund-raising events
Ø To oversee the Lettings income, including liaising with potential external hirers, administering the bookings, raising invoices and reconciling income
Ø Contributing to the smooth-running of the office, reception and other support staff functions
Ø Part of the team of First Aiders (training will be given)
Person Specification
Qualifications/Attainment
Education to at least A level or equivalent Essential
Experience
Full or Part Qualified AAT accounting technician or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' financial experience, to include: Purchase ledger management, supplier account management, payment processing, Ledger accounting
Skills Required:
Excellent written and spoken English Essential
ICT competence, including word, excel and administration of database Essential
High level of organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks Essential
Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the school community Essential
Ability to work on own and with a team Essential
Ability to acquire knowledge and skills in unfamiliar situations and solve problems Desirable
Ability to work accurately - detail conscious Essential
Attitude/Approach
Self-motivated, hard-working and able to work under own direction Essential
