Maintenance Surveyor

Dundee - Also covering Arbroath and Edinburgh

£34,973 - £36,814 per year

35 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Surveyor to join our Surveying Team based in Dundee.

You will be responsible for assessing properties, undertaking pre and post inspections for routine, Major Works, Capital Component and emergency repairs.

The role of Maintenance Surveyor will include:

  • Carrying out pre and post property inspections, ensuring buildings remain compliant with Health and Safety regulations and relevant legislation
  • Coordinating the internal repairs team and external contractors to ensure maintenance work is carried out in line with contract specifications and relevant policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records, raising work orders and managing documentation for work specifications and quotations
  • Providing detailed reports and advice on budgets to aid decision making and reviewing invoices for accuracy as appropriate
  • Undertaking critical void property inspections and property adaptions, including investigating tenant complaints
  • Coordinating and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they are kept informed of progress by providing clear and precise updates

Skills and experiences:


  • HNC qualification in surveying or building maintenance is desirable
  • Experience of managing small to medium scale refurbishment projects
  • Previous experience in a similar role within maintenance, construction or property management, undertaking property inspections and dealing with contractor issues
  • Working knowledge of current maintenance related legislation including Health and Safety regulations
  • Experience of working to strict deadline and prioritising workloads
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
