Grounds Maintenance Operative

We are a family run commercial grounds maintenance company looking to recruit a grounds maintenance operative based at their depot in Bury, Lancashire.

You will be part of the ongoing expansion & growth of the business.


Duties Include:

• All aspects of grounds maintenance on sites (grass cutting, hedge cutting, weed control, pruning, line marking & litter collections etc
• Able to use all types of grass cutting equipment including ride on mowers & hedge trimmers etc
• Provide a professional service to all customers, dealing promptly with any issues arising & reporting immediately to the supervisor
• Proactively report any deficiencies in plant, equipment or damaged infrastructure to the supervisor immediately
• Report any near miss & accidents to the supervisor immediately
• Ensure that any unsatisfactory performance identified is immediately corrected to meet expected standards & requirements

- carry out all duties in a manner & style that reflects the business values & respects all colleagues & customers


Skills/Experience needed:

• Good working knowledge of grounds maintenance & industry experience having a minimum of 1 years experience
• PA1/PA6 certificates preferred
• Proven experience of working within a contracted environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally & in writing at all levels.
• An enhanced DBS check will need to be carried out at a cost to the applicant.
• Enthusiasm & drive to develop a career in the horticultural industry
• Clean driving licence essential.
