To be familiar with and competent in the use of the patient information system (i-Clip).
To make new patient appointments and ensure that all data entered onto the PowerChart and other systems is accurate and complete.
To ensure that case notes and any other correspondence are filed on a daily basis and ensure that the case notes are intact.
To ensure that all patients and visitors to the department are greeted courteously.To reception outpatient clinics effectively, helping to achieve the smooth running of the clinics and department in liaison with the medical and nursing staff, providing an efficient and welcoming reception service.
To ensure national and Trust performance targets are met regarding outpatient services.In line with the Patients Charter and in conjunction with other clinic staff, keep patients constantly informed of any delays in the progress of the clinic and waiting time.
To attend in-service training as directed. To cover colleagues as required. To attend and participate fully in multidisciplinary unit meetings.To have responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others and to comply at all times with the requirement of the Health and Safety Regulations.
To ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act and its amendments.
To work in accordance with the Trusts Equal Opportunities policy to eliminate unlawful discrimination in relation to employment and service delivery.
To ensure skills are up-to-date and relevant to the role, to follow relevant Trust policies and professional codes and to maintain registration where this is a requirement of the role.
