Description
Working in a team of five, you will be supported by a People Assistant and HR Apprentice.

Working with the Assistant People Partner you will be supporting front line managers in the full life cycle of the workforce.

First Line Advisory Support

  • Supportive HR advice provided to colleagues and managers
  • Potential employee relations issues/risks highlighted to HRBP and relevant managers to minimise risk to the business
  • Effective HR presence in relevant meetings and support throughout processes with relevant and commercial guidance provided to managers taking into account employment law, Workplace Relations Codes of Practice and company policies and procedures, with support of HRBP if required
  • All colleagues and managers fully aware of absence and leave procedures and where to find help when needed and managers supported in managing absence
  • Regular ideas and updates in legislation provided through frequent participation in various learning courses and seminars
  • Managers and employees are supported in the use of the HR system and key people processes
  • Managers and colleagues are knowledgeable of Company values and culture reflects the values
  • People Portal is maintained and upto date
Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Through working closely with the talent acquisition team, advertised vacancies are always accurate, updated and consistent with brand and company messaging
  • Managers are supported to carry out interviews, assessment centres and assessment activities
  • Logistics inductions are successfully coordinated and delivered to all new colleagues
  • Assessment centres and interviews are well organised and facilitated efficiently
  • Recruitment, onboarding and induction processes are reviewed regularly with talent acquisition team and the HRBP to identify and implement areas for improvement
  • Equal opportunities and creating a diverse and inclusive team are prioritised in recruitment processes and decision making
  • Vacancies are promoted internally to support employee development and retention
Administration

  • Managers are aware to inform people support of starters and leavers within the agreed timescales and provide the relevant supporting documentation
  • Support colleagues to ensure they have access to their individual employment information such as contracts of employment
  • Leavers are given the opportunity to provide feedback by an Exit Interview/survey with themes identified
  • Formal and informal meeting notes are recorded diligently and in line with Workplace Relations guidance
  • Stakeholders receive high quality, accurate reports and required information within reasonable timeframes
  • Written communication provided as and when required
  • Individuals on Maternity, Paternity and all other parental leave types are kept informed and supported and managers are also supported to manage individuals on such leave
  • The department is kept organised and presentable with stationary always replenished
Data & Systems

  • People support are aware of individual employee changes, e.g. working hours, locations, organisational structure, training, absence records so that the HR system is maintained accurately
  • Data stored is scrutinised as and when required through internal audits
  • Basecamp team members can enter/exit the office using Net2 passes asap after joining
  • Colleagues are confident in using all relevant HR related systems
  • Immediate advice and solutions are provided for HR/T&A system queries as system champion
Customer Service

  • The team have a positive reputation for handling queries in a friendly, approachable and confidential way
  • Employee's queries and questions are answered promptly across the different platforms, without backlogs
  • Our stores have access to uptodate HR toolkit materials allowing them to follow processes efficiently
Learning & Development

  • New starters receive all relevant induction information within acceptable timeframes
  • Training databases are updated and audited regularly, ensuring accurate reports
  • HR training sessions are set up and facilitated in an organised and efficient manner
  • Skilled and knowledgeable teams developed through engaging virtual & facetoface inhouse training programmes
  • Easy to find, user friendly 'how to' documents, short videos and materials exist to help colleagues teach themselves
  • Future training requirements are identified through an indepth knowledge of the business and collaboration with managers and the People Partner
