We are seeking to recruit a Band - Radiology Medical Secretary on behalf of our clients based in Antrim Area Hospital.


JOB SUMMARY:


The purpose of this job is to provide a high level degree of secretarial services to Consultant Medical staff and the team within the Northern Trust.

The Post holder will be able to work on own initiative and to deadlines, prioritising any work with little or no supervision, with a substantial degree of accountability.

The post holder will ensure appropriate communication with patients and outside organisations on behalf of the medical team.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø At all times provide a caring service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner

Ø Carry out their duties and responsibilities in a manner which assures patient and client safety

Ø Carry out their duties and responsibilities in compliance with health and safety policy and statutory regulations

Ø Ensure the ongoing confidence of the public in service provision


Ø Adhere to the Code of Conduct for HSC Employees which aims to guide staff, managers and employers in the work that they do and the decisions and choices they have to make.

Professional staff are expected to follow the code of conduct for their own professions as well as this code.

The post holder will promote and support effective team working, fostering a culture of openness and transparency. The post holder will ensure that they take all concerns raised with them seriously and act in accordance with the NHSCT Raising Concerns Policy and their professional code of conduct, where applicable


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- (a) 2 years' experience as a medical secretary/team secretary_

  • OR_
- (b) 4 GCSE's (Grade A
  • C) to include English language (or equivalent)_
  • Plus_
  • 2 years medical secretary/team secretary experience_
  • OR_
- (c) 3 years secretarial/administrative experience_

  • In addition to (a), (b) or (c) applicants must possess a proven working knowledge of Sectra RIS_
Perform under pressure, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Work under own initiative and to deadlines, prioritises own work with little supervision, with a substantial degree of accountability.

Understand patient confidentiality

Work as part of a team

Interview / Test


Knowledge
Knowledge of computerised systems

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages

Knowledge of developments in HPSS

Knowledge of the role of a medical secretary

This post is;
Full-time - Initially 3 months with possible extension

Weekly pay

37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday


Salary:
£12.25 per hour
