Description
My client, a well-established Asset Management company is seeking a Junior Developer to join their team.


This position will offer a hybrid approach to WFH and office work. This will entail commuting to their London office twice per week.
The opportunity is an initial 12-month fixed term contract with a view to go permanent.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for monitoring of daily batch jobs and rerunning and troubleshooting failed jobs in a timely manner
  • Coding enhancements of London systems and data processes
  • Investigating data queries as raised by the business
  • Supporting the London IT Business Development Team with system enhancements when requested by the business
  • Supporting the London Infrastructure team where required
  • Documentation of existing London data flows and systems
  • Assisting with the creation and production of Management Information reporting including report design and data sourcing
  • Creating database structures to house data as required for enhancements or new business requests
  • Daily interaction with key internal stakeholders to capture, understand and document requirements

Essential Skills:


  • IT skills required
  • Microsoft C#, SQL & VBA
  • Good knowledge of Object Oriented programming concepts & Web Application Development
  • Applies industry standard approaches for configuration management and version control to manage code during build and release
  • Good understanding of relational database systems.
  • Able to make simple connections between code and defined data sources
  • Able to functionally test automated output thoroughly before release to the business
  • Follows basic analysis models such as use cases and process maps
  • Understands the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and AGILE management approaches
  • Can create quality output following organisational and industry good coding practices
  • Solves logical problems, seeking assistance when required
  • Ability to navigate the business environment to understand business issues related to software development, and to accurately identify and capture business requirements
  • A good communicator able to clearly articulate the role and function of software components to a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
