Summary:

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious and proactive Apprentice to be part of the Human Resources team.

The Apprentice will have the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of Human Resources and see firsthand how the function plays a crucial role in supporting the business.


The Apprentice will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience within a number of key HR disciplines, whilst also studying for the HR Support Level 3 Apprenticeship.

During the 18 month programme, the role will work closely across four key areas of Human Resources:
HR Administration, Resourcing, Employee Relations and Learning & Development.


Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the HR team as required as part of a rotational programme as follows.


HR Administration:


  • Support the HR Advisor with the data entry of new joiners in the HR System.
  • Assist with inputting, updating and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Assist with the invoices process, seeking authorisation and liaising with accounts to ensure prompt payment.
  • Respond to reference requests in a timely fashion.
  • Create and maintain online personnel files for employees and ensure all documentation is present and completed.
  • Draft offer letters and contracts for new starters.
  • Arrange longservice awards.

Resourcing:


  • Provide efficient and timely recruitment support, including scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with the management of the applicant tracking.

Employee Relations:


  • Support the HR Managers with employee relations cases.
  • Attend formal meetings as the note taker.
  • Review HR data and make recommendations for improvements.

Learning & Development:


  • Assist with the organisation and planning of training courses.
  • Monitor and review learning and development requests.

Minimum requirements

  • 4 GCSEs at grade A*C (94), including English and Maths.
Qualification

You will be based in our Poole office and throughout the apprenticeship programme you will be working for four days per week and spend one day studying at Poole College.

By the end of your 18-month apprenticeship you will have the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 HR Support (CIPD Foundation)

Reports to:

This role will report directly to the HR Director.
