We are looking to recruit a flexible and enthusiastic Purchasing Assistant to join our small family run office in Billingshurst, to deal with the cycle of enquiries and orders in an efficient and timely manner.


Your role will involve

  • Processing purchase orders and invoices
  • Monitoring open purchase orders
  • Liaison with warehouse and processing goods in receipt
  • Stock control including reviewing stock reorder levels and supplier pricing
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers
  • Processing quotations and raising sales orders
  • Covering other areas of the business
  • Numerate and computer literate with a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Sage 50 Accounts experience desirable, but training can be given.
  • Confident telephone manner important.
  • Organised and methodical, with close attention to detail and able to use initiative.
  • Flexible and a willing team player, but able to work alone without supervision.
  • Able to demonstrate a solid work ethic and manage a varied workload.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Good timekeeper and reliable.
  • Positive and mature attitude, with friendly and helpful personality.
Starting salary will be in the region of £23,000-£26,000 p.a. dependent on age and experience. In addition to basic salary, we pay a discretionary Performance Related Bonus twice a year.

Office hours 9.00am until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch.

20 days holiday a year plus 8 bank holiday days.

Free parking on site or alternatively a 5 minute walk from Billingshurst station.
